Supply, installation and maintenance of a multiwavelength LIDAR for atmospheric aerosol
ABCIS (atmosphere biosphere climate integrated station) in Ispra is one of the very few stations in the world where aerosol ground measurements and remote sensing are performed at the same place, every day, all year round. The station studies the interaction between atmospheric aerosols and solar radiation and their effect on climate.
A LIDAR (light detection and ranging instrument) is indispensable for determining the aerosol vertical profile from the ground till the cloud base and beyond in absence of clouds, and aerosol vertical profiles are essential inputs for calculating the aerosol climate forcing. Therefore, the aim of this contract is the supply and maintenance of a multiwavelength LIDAR system for the characterisation of aerosol and clouds. The maximum duration of the contract will be 60 months (6 months for the supply and assembly of the equipment and related services and 24 months of guarantee. The maintenance will be 12 months renewable twice).
