Re-insurance services (and short-term insurance services)

Snam S.p.A., represented in the tender process by Snam Rete Gas S.p.A., on behalf of Snam S.p.A and Snam Risk Limited

Snam proposes to appoint a panel of potential providers of re-insurance services to Snam Risk Limited, which is in the process of being established. It is proposed that Snam will appoint a number of potential providers under a multi-provider framework (panel) structure and that the re-insurance contract will then be awarded to one or more panel members. Further details regarding the appointment of the panel and the award of the re-insurance contract are provided in the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) published on the Snam website www.snam.it.
Snam is managing this procurement process on behalf of Snam Risk Limited, pending the grant by the Central Bank of Ireland to Snam Risk Limited of an authorisation as a Non-Life Insurance Undertaking under the European Communities (Non-Life Insurance) Framework Regulations 1994. The effectiveness of the re-insurance contract will be conditional upon the grant to Snam Risk Limited of such authorisation.
In the event that Snam Risk Limited has not obtained authorisation by 31.5.2014, Snam may, at its sole option, require the panel members which are awarded the re-insurance contract to provide insurance services to Snam in respect of the same portfolio of risks, on a short-term basis, pending the grant of the authorisation.
Description of the Reinsurance Program required by the Captive Insurer
Overall limits of program: EUR 182 000 000, 100% share for the following risks: Property, Cost of Control of Well (C.O.C.), and Stop of Losses.
Excess of loss property and Cost of Control (section I and II): Reinsurance layer of EUR 142 000 000 (annual aggregate) for Property Section and EUR 32 000 000 (annual aggregate) for C.O.C. Section each and every loss combined for the 2 Sections in excess of EUR 8 000 000 (Ground up).
Portfolio protection stop loss (section III): Reinsurance Limit EUR 8 000 000 each and every loss and in the annual aggregate after exhaustion of net annual retained amount of EUR 16 000 000.
