Self assessment of EFSA's existing quality management system for its scientific activities against an ISO 9001:2008 benchmark and development of required SOPs

The European Food Safety Authority is planning to award a contract for the provision of technical services in support of a programme which has as the objective ISO 9001:2008 certification of the scientific elements of the organisation. This tender is divided into the following 2 lots:
Overall objectives for lot 1:
The overall objectives of the contract resulting from the present procurement procedure are as follows:
โ€” to ensure that the self assessment activity delivers an actionable plan,
โ€” that the self assessment results in broad consensus around what is currently working and what needs improvement,
โ€” that the self assessment activity is fact based and can be used to get EFSA management buy-in to the development of an ISO accreditable quality management system.
Overall objectives for lot 2:
The overall objectives of the contract resulting from the present procurement procedure are as follows:
โ€” that the resulting SOPs form the basis of a comprehensive quality management system with clear definition of roles and responsibilities and suitable records for demonstrating compliance,
โ€” that the SOPs are accepted by the organisation as appropriate and proportionate to achieving the goals.
