EU-wide data availability survey and testing of low-carbon farming practices assessment tool (2 lots)
The objectives of this procurement are as follows:
• lot 1 — survey at farm level — a survey shall be undertaken on a representative sample of (at least 100) farms in different Member States in order to evaluate if all necessary information to run the carbon calculator (resulting from the separate call for tender 'Carbon calculator to promote low-carbon farming practices') can be easily collected at farm level throughout the EU,
• lot 2 — testing the carbon calculator — the carbon calculator (resulting from the separate call for tender 'Carbon calculator to promote low-carbon farming practices') will be tested on a representative sample to see how well adapted the tool is to farming types, bio-geographical situations, level of farmers' education, technology available, farm advisory services available, etc. Testing will examine not only whether the carbon calculator is well designed but also its ease of use. Policy options to promote mitigation measures among farmers using the carbon calculator and a certification scheme structure will be tested at farm level and evaluated.
